Trucking freight costs are based on The National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) standard and differ from how air and ocean freight costs are calculated. All commodities fall into one of 18 classes between a low of 50 to a high of 500 based on four transportation characteristics: density, stow-ability, handling, and liability.
Throughout the U.S. and Canada, BGI has partnered with the nation's best carriers to provide a wide variety of full truckload (FTL) options. Full truckload options for large shipments include specialized equipment – air ride, removable gooseneck flatbed, heavy haul trucking and refrigerated trucks.
For shipments that will not fill an entire truck, less than truckload (LTL) offers unparalleled convenience and cost savings for domestic shipping. BGI has partnered with some of the best carriers nationwide, negotiated the best possible rates and developed tools to allow shippers to easily manage the shipping process. Standard LTL trucking is the most cost-effective over-the-road service. Expedited LTL is available for shipments on a deadline or schedule.
