Air, Ocean, and Truck Cargo Insurance

There are many risks associated with doing business in the global marketplace, that’s why appropriate freight insurance is necessary to manage the risk of dealing with foreign transactions and investments.

With air, ocean, and truck insurance from BGI, you get the peace of mind knowing that, in an unfortunate event, you’re investment is fully protected.

Carrier’s Standard Cargo Liability Insurance is limited to:

• International or domestic air cargo: $20.00 per kilogram
• Domestic truck and rail transportation: $0.50 per pound
• Ocean freight: $500 per bill of lading

If your shipments exceed the standard cargo liability limit, BGI recommends that you purchase additional insurance coverage, known as Shipper’s Interest Coverage, for the full value of your shipment. Talk to BGI about the best insurance options for you and to purchase any needed coverage.

BGI always recommends that you purchase Shipper’s Interest coverage for the full value of your shipment. However, it is up to each shipper to request such coverage and declare the value to be covered. You can purchase this coverage from BGI or your own provider.
